Cold with showers, some heavy and thundery, slightly milder next week

A colder and more mixed weather pattern will persist through the coming days. There will be showers and these are going to be heavy at times. The weekend sees a few showers too, perhaps turning a little milder into next week, although this not lasting too long. Showers next week too.

Friday 30/4/21
The cold northeast flow persists on Friday. Starting dry at forst with some sunny spells. Showers quickly developing in southwest England and continuing over the coasts of eastern England and eastern Scotland. The showers growing over northeast England and eastern Scotland as well as East Anglia. Some heavy, thundery showers too in Wales and southwest England as well as much of Ireland. Drier in other places with some bright or sunny spells. Highs at 9 to 13C.

Saturday 1/5/21
Pressure remains low through the UK and Ireland on Saturday. A mix of sunny spells with scattered showers developing in the morning. The showers turning heavier through the afternoon, some thundery. Highs at 9 to 12C.

 
 
 

Sunday 2/5/21
A slack pressure flow on Sunday. Starting chilly with some bright or sunny spells. A few showers are going to be developing in the morning and into the afternoon, one or two of them heavy. Decent spells of sunshine with fewer showers than on previous days. Highs at a cool 9 to 12C.

Monday 3/5/21
An area of low pressure is expected to be close to western Scotland on Monday. Rain and stronger winds in western Scotland and much of Ireland. Drier and brighter in other areas with some sunny spells, best of them in the east. Highs at 15C in the south, 11C in northern Scotland.

Tuesday 4/5/21
Low pressure passes through Scotland on Tuesday bringing outbreaks of rain and stronger winds here. Cooler for other areas with sunny spells and just a scattering of showers developing. Tops at 7 to 14C.

Wednesday 5/5/21
Showers across Ireland and much of Wales and England on Wednesday. It is likely to be chilly and mostly dry in Scotland, dry and bright in southern England. Highs at a cold 6C in northern Scotland, 14C in southern England.
