Sunshine and showers with a cooler air this week. Cloud and rain expected into next week.

Sunshine and showers on the cards for this week and into the weekend with a cooler northeasterly flow about. Rain looks to then arrive from the Atlantic from Sunday with the unsettled trend continuing into next week.

Thursday 29/04/21
A chilly north-easterly flow continues through Thursday with a frost and ice risk across rural areas in particular expected first thing. A wet and cloudy start to the souutheast corner of England but the rain here will soon clear off towards the near continent. Elsewhere, scattered showers will develop in places, some of these wintry over the hills in the north, but there will be plenty of dry weather too with sunny spells about. Highs between 7 and 11C.

Friday 30/04/21
Under a relatively slack pressure gradient it will be another day of sunny spells and developing scattered showers. Some frost about to start, particularly so across rural locations. Showers becoming widespread across the country through the morning but look to largely die out in the afternoon. Highs of 8 to 13C.
 

Saturday 01/05/21
Pressure gradient remains slack into the weekend with light winds and some scattered showers about but plenty of dry conditions and sunny spells. Another frosty start for some. There is the risk for more cloud cover across southern English counties as low pressure sits over the near continent. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Sunday 02/05/21
An Atlantic area of low pressure moves towards the UK and Ireland on Sunday. This will increase cloud cover to western areas at first and likely to bring spells of rain to Ireland and western regions of the UK through the day. Currently, eastern regions of England and Scotland look to remain dry with the best of the lasting sun in the far east. Highs at 8 to 14C.

Monday 03/05/21
Signs are that the start of the new week looks to be an unsettled one with largely cloudy skies for most and outbreaks of rain as the UK becomes engulfed by low pressure. Highs at 7 to 13C.

Tuesday 04/05/21
Another unsettled day with cloud and outbreaks of rain, heavy in places, expected throughout the day. Winds also look to strengthen for many. Highs at a below average 8 to 13C.
