Dry this week, turning more showery and cool into next week

Pressure is going to be staying high in the coming days. Plenty of dry weather with sunny spells. Overnight frosts are likely. A tendency towards showers through the early part of next week. Becoming cooler next week too.

Sunday 25/04/21
High pressure is probably going to be over the north of the country on Sunday. An easterly flow in southern areas with broken cloud for many. The best of any brightness is likely to be in the west. Sunnier skies in northern Scotland but also a slight chance of showers developing here. Highs at just 10 or 11C on eastern coasts, more widely at 13 to 17C.
 

Monday 26/04/21
A small area of low pressure may drift into northern Scotland on Monday. This brings some rain here, most in the north and west, some locally heavy. Drier for the rest of Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland. Broken cloud and bright spells, the best of the sunshine in the south. Highs at just 8C in northeast Scotland, more widely at 10 to 16C.
 

Tuesday 27/04/21
Lower pressure to the east of the UK on Tuesday. Showery outbreaks of rain in northern Scotland and some of these affecting Northern Ireland too. Other parts of England and Wales as well as southern Ireland and southern Scotland should be dry. Broken cloud and some bright spells, the best in the south. Highs at 14C in southern England, 8C in northern Scotland.

Wednesday 28/04/21
A slack pressure flow on Wednesday. There may be some broken cloud and some showers, most in southern and western areas. A few bright spells but a fair amount of cloud is likely too. A cool day with highs at just 8 to 13C.

Thursday 29/04/21
The slack pressure flow remains through Thursday. Scattered showers here and there, mostly to the west and north, a few brighter spells too. Highs at 8 to 14C.

Friday 30/04/21
Friday could see the arrival of an area of low pressure to the southwest bringing outbreaks of rain here. Otherwise mostly dry with just isolated showers. Highs of 7 to 13C.
