Cold at first, rain in the southeast during the weekend, then a little milder next week

Overnight frosts remain a risk through the next few days where the skies become clearer, mostly in the north and west. A risk of some persistent rain in southeastern parts of the UK through Saturday and Sunday. Tending to be a little milder next week with some drizzle and rain in the north and west, drier in the east and south.

Monday 12/04/21
High pressure to the southwest on Monday brings broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells for many parts of England, Wales and southern Ireland. Low pressure to the northwest however brings thicker cloud across much of Scotland and Ireland with some outbreaks of rain here. Some showers, light rain or drizzle may affect northwestern parts of England and Wales at times too. Highs at 5 to 11C.


Tuesday 13/04/21
High pressure stays to the south of the country through Tuesday. This brings a dry day with broken cloud to much of England and Wales. Drizzle and patchy rain in northwest England and for western coasts of Wales. More persistent rain in western Scotland and western Ireland. Drier in eastern Ireland and eastern Scotland. Highs at 7 to 12C.
 


Wednesday 14/04/21
Low pressure northwest of Scotland on Wednesday. Cloud and periods of rain in Scotland and Ireland as well as northwest England and Wales. Eastern and southern areas are probably going to be drier with broken cloud and a few bright spells. Highs at 13C in southeast England, 9C in northern Scotland and Ireland.

Thursday 15/04/21
A ridge of high pressure centred to the northeast of Scotland may bring dry and fine conditions through much of the UK and Ireland on Thursday. Easterly winds over England may bring cloud and some patchy light rain or drizzle to eastern coasts here. High temperatures at 10 to 13C for most, 8 or 9C on eastern coasts.

Friday 16/04/21
An area of low pressure arrives to the southwest of the British Isles bringing cloud and showery outbreaks of rain to southern Ireland and the southwest UK. Some showers may be thundery. Drier and brighter further north and east though eastern coasts of England may stay cloudy with some drizzle. Highs at 9C to 12C for most, cooler on eastern coasts.

Saturday 17/04/21
Saturday could see low pressure move eastward across England bringing more widespread cloud and showery outbreaks of rain. Again, some showes could be thundery. Staying drier further north with broken cloud here. Highs of just 7 or 8C on eastern coasts, 9 to 11C everywhere else.
