Dry this week, turning more showery and cool into next week

Pressure is going to be staying high in the coming days. Plenty of dry weather with sunny spells. Overnight frosts are likely. A tendency towards showers through the early part of next week. Becoming cooler next week too.

Monday 26/04/21
A small area of low pressure may drift into northern Scotland on Monday. This brings some rain here, most in the north and west, some locally heavy. Drier for the rest of Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland. Broken cloud and bright spells, the best of the sunshine in the south. Highs at just 9C in northern Scotland, 11 to 14C across much of England and Wales, and 14 to 16C through Ireland.

Tuesday 27/04/21
Lower pressure drifts south on Tuesday bringing patchy outbreaks of rain to parts of England and Wales. Showery outbreaks of rain in northern Scotland and some of these affecting Northern Ireland and Ireland too. There will be broken cloud and some bright spells, the best of these later in the day to the north and west. Highs at 12C in southern England, 6 or 7C in northern Scotland.

Wednesday 28/04/21
A slack pressure flow on Wednesday with high pressure trying to build back in from the northwest. There may be some broken cloud and some showers, most in northern and western areas. A few bright spells but a fair amount of cloud is likely too. A cool day with highs at just 7 to 12C.

Thursday 29/04/21
The slack pressure flow remains through Thursday. A mixed day across the UK and Ireland with scattered showers here and there, mostly to the west and north, a few brighter spells too. High temperatures at 7C in the north and 11C in the south.

Friday 30/04/21
Currently models are indicating that the pressure flow remains slack but northerly on Friday with high pressure to the west and low pressure to the east. Another mixed day with scattered showers - most to the north and east. Highs of 7 to 12C.

Saturday 01/05/21
High pressure continues to try to build in from the west into the weekend. Another mixed day though showers should become lighter and increasingly isolated through the day. Good spells of sunshine develop for some. Staying cool with highs of 7 to 12C.
