Rain then showers in the north but staying dry further south.
A frosty start for southern areas but it will be a dry and bright morning. Meanwhile, cloudier skies and rain will push across northern parts of Scotland at first then spread southwards later in the morning.
The afternoon will see patchy, mostly light, rain affect parts of southern Scotland, many places staying mostly dry though. Heavy showers but also sunny spells developing towards the north and west. Patchy rain pushing into Northern Ireland and northwest Ireland as well as into northern England. Further south it will remain dry with cloud building but staying bright in the far south.
Overnight, cloudy skies and patchy rain, mostly light, although some locally heavier spells for a time, will continue across Scotland and northern England and sink south into Wales and central parts of England as well as down mainly coastal areas of Ireland. Remaining dry with clear skies across the far south of Wales, England and much of Ireland. Overnight lows will largely remain above zero.
