Plenty of dry and sunny weather but with interruptions of cloud and rain at times, mainly towards the west

High pressure remains the dominating weather feature through the forecast period allowing for largely dry and fine conditions, however, Atlantic low pressure systems do bring cloud and some rain into mainly western areas of the UK and Ireland at times.

Sunday 18/04/21
Much of England and Wales are likely to remain dry with variable cloud and warm sunshine. Fronts encroaching in from the west bring more cloud to Scotland and Ireland, with some outbreaks of rain, mostly light, but may become persistent and heavier for west and southwest Scotland for a time. A fresh southerly breeze in the north and west, lighter breezes for central and southern England. Highs 13 to 16C, cooler in the west in rain.


Monday 19/04/21
A new low pressure system moves in from the west and will bring cloudier skies and outbreaks of rain to Ireland, Northern Ireland and much of Scotland, as well as western areas of England and Wales. As the front moves through a brisker northerly winds will pick up across far western and northwestern coastal areas. The rest of England and Wales should remain dry and feeling warm in sunny spells and light breezes. Highs ranging from 8C in west, to 16C southeast.


Tuesday 20/04/21
On Tuesday remnants of the front further north will bring rather cloudy skies and a few scattered showers across England and Wales, but many places probably escaping dry. High pressure begins to build back across the northwest of Britain and Ireland. A fresh northeasterly wind for southern England. A little cooler for some, highs 8 to 16C.
 


Wednesday 21/04/21
High pressure is expected to extend back across most of Britain, with dry and sunny conditions for many. Some local mist patches in the morning. A little cloud filling in at times for some. A cool easterly breeze in the south. Light winds for many. Highs 10 to 15C.

Thursday 22/04/21
Settled weather is expected for most as high pressure dominates. Early mist patches clearing to leave a plenty of sunshine and feeling warm. An Atlantic low pressure system moves in from the west and will gradually increase cloud cover pushing some rain across Ireland and Northern Ireland into western Scotland. A strengthening southerly wind will also come about across western regions of the British Isles. A cool start with slight frost, but reaching 13 to 16C by afternoon.

Friday 23/04/21
Thursday's frontal system looks to continue to push across the UK and Ireland on Friday allowing for increasing cloud cover for all and outbreaks of rain to push across, heavy spells at times toards the northwest. The far southeast of England could stay dry throughout. A cooler day with highs at 8 to 14C.
