Largely dry
Cloud and rain for some

Issued: 0830hrs Sunday 18th April 2021
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Largely dry, although cloudier skies and some rain is in the forecast. Feeling warm in the sun.

High pressure will dominate with largely dry conditions over the coming days. However, with Atlantic low pressure also moving in to the far west at times there will be more in the way of cloud about and some patchy rain, mainly across southern and western regions.

Wednesday 21/04/21
A cloudy day for central and southern parts of England and Wales as well as for the far south of Ireland. Some patchy outbreaks of light rain affecting these areas too as a weak front extends across the area. Brighter and dry to the north of this with good spells of sunshine for Scotland, northern and eastern England and northern Ireland. Highs at 8 or 9C on eastern coasts, more widely reaching 11 to 15C.

Thursday 22/04/21
High pressure builds in again as the lingering front from the previous days disappears from the picture. A mostly dry, settled and bright day for the UK and Ireland. Any early mist or fog patches should burn off quickly. A cool start with a slight frost. Highs at 11 or 12C in the southwest of the UK and the southeast of Ireland, elsewhere at 13 to 15C for most.

Friday 23/04/21
High pressure dominates inhibiting the northeastward progression of low pressure just to the southwest of Ireland. Dry conditions with sunny spells for most, sunshine best further east. Cloudier skies to the southwest and the risk of some rain into the southwest of Ireland and the UK later. Highs at 10 or 11C on eastern coasts, more widely 12 to 16C.

Saturday 24/04/21
Another largely dry day with good spells of sunshine for most, although with low pressure close by some western and southwestern areas could still see more in the way of cloud once again with the risk of some patchy rain for parts of Ireland and the southwest UK. Highs at 11 to 17C.

Sunday 25/04/21
High pressure stays dominant into Sunday with further good spells of sunshine and plenty of dry weather across much of the UK and Ireland. Fronts to the far southwest may still bring thicker cloud and showery rain here. Highs of 11 or 12C on eastern coasts, more widely at 13 to 20C.

Monday 26/04/21
Some uncertainty in the detail for Mondays forecast. Indications are that lower pressure may spread across Ireland and southern parts of the UK bringing cloudier skies and more widespread showery rain here. Staying drier and bright further north. Highs range from 10 to 17C.
