Cloud, patchy rain west

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 18th April 2021
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

High pressure brings another mostly fine and dry day to the UK. Cloudier skies over western areas and over Ireland with fronts bringing patchy outbreaks of rain into western parts of Ireland and Scotland as well as into the far northwest of England and Wales at times.

Good Morning,

A chilly start to the day for central and eastern parts of England with a frost possible here and in more sheltered spots of Wales and eastern Scotland. Milder further west with thicker cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain. Rain mainly affecting western Ireland, western Scotland and far northwestern parts of Wales and England. Staying bright and dry further east and south.

Light patchy rain continues to affect far northwestern parts of Scotland and far western parts of Ireland into the afternoon. Western areas tend to be cloudier while the best of the sun will be seen over southeastern and eastern areas.

Little change into the evening with good spells of sunshine over eastern parts of England. Staying cloudier further west with patchy light rain over far western portions of Ireland and Scotland.

Have a good day!

Claire
