Chilly in east

Good morning,

High pressure extends across Britain and Scandinavia today. Showery rain is expected to drift slowly westwards across eastern England into the Midlands and the Home Counties, otherwise it will be dry with variable cloud and sunshine.

Winds mostly light, but expect a fresh northeasterly breeze in the southeast, particularly near to coasts where it will feel distinctly chilly.

Fair-weather cloud will tend to fill in during the day inland, whilst coastal areas will typically have the most sun in the afternoon.

Today's top temperatures reaching 10 to 13C, typically warmest in western areas, and locally to the lee of high ground in northern Scotland. Only 6 to 8C on North Sea coasts.

Have a great day.
Garry
