Wet and cold northern Scotland, dry and warm for other areas

A fine day again across most of England and Wales. It may be quite chilly at first, but temperatures soon lifting to be into the low to mid 20's by this afternoon. Increasing amounts of cloud in northern England this afternoon, perhaps with a few showers over the high ground of Cumbria later.

Rain in norther Scotland will be pushing southwards through the day, although cloud and mist in southern Scotland although the rain tending to be patchy here. A few spots of rain developing in western Ireland. Colder in northern Scotland but milder elsewhere.

Tonight the cold air pushes south through all areas, taking a band of cloud with it into central and eastern England and Wales. Drier in northern England and Scotland with a touch of frost by the morning.
