Morning Call - March 12, 2021
Blustery showers
Sunny spells

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 12th March 2021
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Another breezy day for the UK and Ireland with sunny spells and blustery showers. Some showers will be locally heavy and/or thundery and will turn readily to sleet and snow over higher ground. Clodu thickens from the west later with rain spreading over Ireland and into western parts of the UK.

Good Morning,

Staying windy into Friday as a band of more organised, locally very heavy, showers moves east across Wales and England this morning clearing into the North Sea by lunchtime. Elsewhere frequent blustery showers, these also locally heavy and/or thundery, affect western areas. These also turn to sleet and snow over higher ground. Coastal gales affect western areas.

Showers continue to affect western areas through the afternoon though they will merge to give longer spells of rain as a front pushes into Ireland then later into western parts of England, Scotland and Wales. Rain is accompanied by gales to the southwest and, again, rain readily turns to sleet and snow over higher ground to the north. Drier later for central and eastern parts of England and Scotland with some good spells of sunshine developing here. Staying very breezy.

Cloud and rain continue to spread from the west into central parts of England and Scotland through the evening. Far eastern areas will stay dry until later. Continuing breezy for all with gales to the southwest.

Have a good day!

Claire
