Morning Call - March 08, 2021
Patchy outbreaks of rain
Dry southwest

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 8th March 2021
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Patchy outbreaks of rain spread east and south across Ireland and the UK today. Staying dry for many across central and western England and Wales with the best of the sun to the southwest.

Good Morning,

High pressure to the southwest of the UK brings a dry and fine start to the day here and for eastern Ireland. Low pressure to the north and east brings patchy outbreaks of rain to western Ireland, western and southern Scotland and to northern and northeastern parts of England. To the north of this scattered showers affect northwestern Scotland. Northeast Scotland and southeast England start the day dry with variable amounts of cloud.

During the afternoon patchy light rain spreads east across Ireland while patchy rain and drizzle make their way south along eastern coastal regions of England. Rain tends to fade elsewhere to leave a mostly dry afternoon with variable amounts of cloud. The best of the sun over south Wales and southwest England.

Rain tends to peter out and fade into Monday evening though isolated showers linger over western Ireland and southeast England. Dry elsewhere with the best of any clear skies to the southwest of the UK.

Have a good day!

Claire
