Cloudier north & west
Fair east

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 23rd March 2021
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Increasing cloud in west, but mostly dry with best sunny spells in the east

A quiet day for much of the UK with higher pressure still in control. Some sunny spells in England, Wales and eastern Scotland. Thicker cloud in the west of Wales and western England this morning, as well as western Scotland. It is also rather cloudy in Ireland, although some brightness may affect central areas. Western coasts of Ireland and western Scotland may have some drizzle, with this also encroaching into west and southwest Wales and the far southwest of England.

This afternoon sees plenty of cloud across much of the country. Drizzle again may affect western coasts of Wales and southwest England. Drizzle returns to rain in western Ireland and western Scotland. Most other areas are likely to be dry. Feeling col in the cloud in the north and west, but milder in the east and southeast.

Tonight sees thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain across northwest England and Ireland. Some drizzle in southwest England with low cloud affecting the coasts and hills here. Drier in Scotland and Ireland as rain clears, although some showers in western Scotland.
