Morning Call - April 08, 2021
Rain northwest Scotland
Drizzly west

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 8th April 2021
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Increasingly cloudy and drizzly west with rain in northwest Scotland

Increasing cloud through today as air from the Atlantic passes through the UK and Ireland. Thickening cloud in western areas with low cloud and some drizzle over western coasts and hills; this risk is going to be increasing through this afternoon. More persistent rain in northwest Scotland where there will also be gale force winds.

Some sunshine at first in East Anglia and southeast England at first, although cloud will be increasing here. Tending to stay over mich of central and southern areas, although a spot of drizzle cannot be ruled out over high ground. Misty in northwest England as the more persistent rain slips south through Scotland this afternoon. Turning brighter and colder in northern Scotland later.

Rain edges through northern England and Ireland tonight, reaching northern and western Wales by the morning. Clearer skies in the far north of England and Scotland, some wintry showers i the far north. Drier and cloudier as well as milder in southern England.
