Cloud and rain for some

Issued: 0900hrs Friday 16th April 2021
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Largely dry, although cloudier skies and some rain is in the forecast. Feeling warm in the sun.

Monday 19/04/21
An area of low pressure moves in from the west and will bring cloudier skies and outbreaks of rain to Ireland, Northern Ireland and western areas of England, Scotland and Wales. Sunnier spells are expected further east but cloud is likely to become hazy and even cloud over across some central areas. Feeling warm though here in light breezes. Highs ranging from 8C in west, to 16C further east.

Tuesday 20/04/21
On Tuesday, remnants of the front further north will bring rather cloudy skies with showery outbreaks of rain across the country with heavier bursts of rain possible further north and west for a time. High pressure begins to build back across the west and northwest of Britain and Ireland allowing for drier and brighter skies to follow here. A little cooler for some, highs 8 to 14C.

Wednesday 21/04/21
A possible cloudy and wet start to southern and southeastern counties of England, but as high pressure is expected to extend back across most of Britain dry and sunny conditions are expected. Some local mist patches in the morning. A little cloud filling in at times for some too. A cool easterly breeze in the south. Light winds for many. Highs 8 to 13C.

Thursday 22/04/21
Settled and dry weather is expected for most as high pressure dominates. Early mist patches clearing to leave plenty of sunshine. An Atlantic low pressure system moves in from the west and will gradually increase cloud cover across the country and far western locations of Ireland could even see some patchy light rain. A strengthening southerly wind will also come about across western regions of the British Isles. A cool start with slight frost, but reaching 11 to 15C by afternoon.

Friday 23/04/21
High pressure looks to dominate once again inhibiting the progression of low pressure just to the west of Ireland. Largely dry conditions with sunny spells, sunshine best further east. Cloudier skies with a strengthened southerly wind further west and the risk of some rain across some far western Irish locations. Highs at 11 to 15C.

Saturday 24/04/21
Another largely dry day with sunny spells about, although with low pressure close by some western areas could still see more in the way of cloud once again with the risk of some rain pushing into parts of western Ireland still. Highs at 10 to 15C.
