Sunny spells and showers about along with a cooler flow.

Expect sunny spells but also developing showers next week. Overnight frosts are likely as a cooler flow moves in. Temperatures look to recover for many through next weekend.

Wednesday 28/04/21
A chillier north-easterly flow is forecast for Wednesday and expect a frosty start for parts of Scotland. Showers will push in onto eastern areas mainly but are expected to push further west, these turning wintry over the higher ground across Scotland and the Pennines. The southwest of England currently forecast to see thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain for much of the day. It will also be breezy here. A cool day with highs at just 7 to 12C.

Thursday 29/04/21
A chilly north-easterly flow continues through Thursday with a reasonably widespread frost and ice risk expected first thing. It looks to be a largely dry start with good spells of sunshine about, although with a few showers towards the north and east. These showers will become more widespread through the day, falling once again as a wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow over the higher ground across Scotland. Highs between 7 and 11C.

Friday 30/04/21
A similar day on Friday is expected at this stage - a largely dry and bright start with a frost and ice risk across mainly northern areas but also further south in more exposed places. Showers becoming widespread as the day progresses. Highs of 7 to 13C.

Saturday 01/05/21
Pressure gradient remains slack into the weekend with light winds and some scattered showers about but plenty of dry conditions and sunny spells. However, an area of low pressure pushes towards western Scotland allowing for cloud to thicken in the far west. Temperatures on the increase now with highs at 9 to 14C.

Sunday 02/05/21
With low presure to the northwest of the UK and Ireland expect cloudier skies towards the north and west, possibly with some rain for the far north and Northern Isles. Drier and brighter conditions further south and east although showers are still expected to develop in places. A warmer day with highs between 10 and 15C.

Monday 03/05/21
A cloudier day for many with some possible rain across the northern half of the UK. Drier with more in the way of sunny spells further south as high pressure ridges in here. HIghs at 10 to 15C.
