Windy with rain spreading east, a risk of snow in northern Scotland tonight
Breezy across all areas this morning. A few bright spells in the southeast for the next couple of hours, but wind and rain in the west will be spreading quickly eastwards. The rain could be heavy in central and western Scotland as well as western parts of England and Wales. Turning drier in Ireland after early rain, but windy with some showers in the west.
The rain spreads east this afternoon, clearing eastern England later. All areas stay windy with some showers over western coasts and hills. Severe gales may affect parts of Ireland and Scotland with colder air arriving here too.
Tonight becomes colder for all. Showers fading for many, but further showers and some more persistent sleet and snow over northern areas. Remaining windy with severe gales, especially in the north.
