Dry for most
Sunny south

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 5th November 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

High pressure remains over the UK and Ireland on Thursday bringing a largely dry and fine day to the region. There will always be more in the way of cloud around for northern and western areas while southern and eastern areas will see the best of the sun. Early mist and fog patches may be rather slow to clear but should clear for most by lunchtime.

Good Morning,

High pressure stays in control of conditions over the UK and Ireland today bringing a dry and fair start to the day for many. There will be some mist and fog patches about - especially over England, Ireland and Wales - some of which may be rather slow to clear. Cloudier to start over northern and western areas.

Staying cloudy to the north and west into Thursday afternoon with cloud perhaps thickening enough to give some spots of light rain or drizzle over western Scotland and northwestern parts of Ireland and England. Dry and fine elsewhere with good spells of sunshine over Ireland, Wales, England and northeastern Scotland where Foehn effect winds may see temperatures rise to 13 or 14C. Staying cool elsewhere however with highs of just 9 to 11C.

Not much change into Thursday evening though mist and fog patches will start to form again over favoured spots as the temperature drops. Staying cloudier to the north and west with clearer skies to the east.

Have a good day!

Claire
