Mild, rain in west
Heavy rain tonight

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 11th November 2020
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Rain in the west but dry to the east, then heavy rain tonight

It's a dry morning across much of England and Wales. Plenty of cloud, although some mist patches too. There will be some drizzle affecting western and southern coasts with some misty conditions here. Rain across Ireland will become heavier through the morning. More persistent rain for western Scotland too, but tending to be drier in the east. Mild for all and breezy in the east of Ireland and western Scotland.

Wet across Ireland and western Scotland this afternoon with some heavy periods of rain. Drizzle and patchy rain drifting into Wales and southwest England with some wetter westher in central and western parts of Scotland too. Tending to be drier in more eastern areas of England with the breeze picking up here.

A band of heavier rain crosses the UK from west to east overnight, with a risk of some cracks of thunder. Turning drier in Ireland this evening, this drier weather reaching all areas by the early hours.
