Morning Call - November 09, 2020
Rather dull
Rain southwest

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 9th November 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A mostly dull day is expected over the UK and Ireland today though conditions improve for Ireland and Northern Ireland later with good spells of sunshine developing here. Outbreaks of rain affect parts of Wales and England and these could be locally heavy over south Wales. Mist and fog could be slow to clear over eastern England and only lift to low cloud for some areas. A mostly dry but cloudy day for Scotland with the best chance of any sun to the north.

Good Morning,

It's a dull, damp and grey start to the week for many with extensive patches of mist and fog this morning. These will be very slow to clear, lingering over northeastern parts of England in particular. Outbreaks of rain affect parts of Ireland and Wales as well as southwestern and western parts of England. Drier over Scotland and Northern Ireland but isolated patches of rain can't be ruled out here.

Brighter skies develop across Ireland and Northern Ireland through Monday afternoon as rain clears to the east here. Further heavier outbreaks of rain are expected to develop over Wales and western England. Staying rather cloudy over eastern England and Scotland though further north we could see one or two brighter spells develop.

Patchy outbreaks of rain continue across Wales and western England, spreading to eastern areas later, into the evening while Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and the north of England stay drier. As temperatures drop after sunset patches of mist and fog will start to form once again.

Have a good day!

Claire
