Plenty of cloud, some drizzle in the west, brighter in the east
Mist and fog patches affecting much of the west of the UK through today. There will be some drizzle affecting western coasts and hills. Further east it is likely to be brighter with some sunny spells developing, and feeling cold here as well. Some showers affecting eastern coasts too.
Staying fairly cloudy in the west through this afternoon. Eastern areas tending to see cloud increasing as the day progresses. Western areas again see some drizzle and low cloud on coasts and hills.
Tonight sees more persistent rain in northern and western Scotland as well as northwest Ireland. Eastern Scotland and much of England and Wales will be dry with broken cloud and the risk of a frost in places by the morning.
