Morning Call - November 30, 2020
Mist & fog southwest
Outbreaks of rain

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 30th November 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

After a misty, foggy start for some southwestern areas, an area of rain spreads from the northwest across much of the UK and Ireland today. As the rain spreads south it will become patchy so some areas may stay dry. Increasingly cloudy for all.

Good Morning,

There will be mist and fog patches around for southern and southwestern parts of the UK this morning. Elsewhere an area of rain makes its way southeastward across Scotland and Northern Ireland and into northern parts of Ireland, England and Wales by lunchtime. The approach of this area of rain sees winds rise so most mist and fog patches should dissipate by lunchtime.

Through the afternoon the area of rain continues to make its way southward over Ireland, England and Wales. As it does so, the rain becomes increasingly light and patchy so some areas may miss out completely on the rain. It will be an increasingly cloudy afternoon for southern areas. Meanwhile as the rain tracks south, brighter and drier conditions develop over Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England with the best of the afternoon sun to the east.

Patchy rain hangs on in the far southwest and southeast of the UK and Ireland into Monday evening but most areas end the day dry, if not rather cloudy. Breezy for eastern coasts of England and Scotland with the best of any clear skies here.

Have a good day!

Claire
