Mixed with varying temperatures, drier early next week

Mixed conditions remain through the rest of this week and into the weekend. Turning significantly colder through Thursday and into the early parts of the weekend with the threat of snow over northern Scotland. A ridge of higher pressure builds into the early stages of next week bringing drier weather to the southeast.

Saturday 21/11/20
Rather cloudy for southeast Ireland, Wales and England on Saturday as a front passes south over this region bringing patchy outbreaks of rain. Brighter for Scotland, Northern Ireland and, later, for Ireland and northern England though showers will affect western coasts and hills. A milder day in the south at 11 or 12C, but still cool in the north at 6 to 8C.
 


Sunday 22/11/20
High pressure to the south on Sunday brings a southwest to westerly flow to the UK and Ireland. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain and drizzle may affect the far south of England on Sunday. Showers in northern and western Scotland. Other areas are likely to be largely dry and bright with some good sunny spells breaking through. Highs at 6 to 11C.
 


Monday 23/11/20
High pressure to the southeast with lower pressure to the northwest on Monday. A southwesterly flow brings dry weather with some bright or sunny spells across England and Wales. Eastern Scotland should be brighter as well. Western parts of Scotland and Ireland will be cloudier with the risk of some drizzle on coasts. Highs at 6 to 12C.

Tuesday 24/11/20
Rain across Ireland, Northern Ireland and western Scotland on Tuesday, later moving into the west of Wales and southwest England as high pressure moves to the east. Drier across many central and eastern areas with some bright or sunny spells here too. High temperatures at 9 to 11C.

Wednesday 25/11/20
High pressure moves east of the UK on Wednesday allowing a weak trough to move across the region from the west. A band of patchy rain moves eastward followed by a mix of sunny spells and showers from the west. Highs at 7 to 12C.

Thursday 26/11/20
A transient ridge of high pressure over the UK on Thursday though low pressure moves in from the west once more. Staying dry but increasingly cloudy across much of Great Britain. Cloudier for Ireland and Northern Ireland with rain moving in here. Highs of 6 to 9C.
