Rain at times

Issued: 0930 Sunday 8th November 2020

Conditions turn more mixed as temperatures become milder

The weather is turning more mixed through the next week with rain and strengthened winds at times. High pressure stays close by, however, so there will be dry periods too, especially across southern and eastern areas. Temperatures around or slightly above average as a southwesterly flow prevails.

Wednesday 11/11/20
A dry start for many but quickly becoming increasingly cloudy. Rain already affecting western areas will push slowly eastward through the day with winds strengthening as the rain nears and passes through. It should stay dry for many eastern areas throughout much of the day but turning increasingly cloudy here. High temperatures at 10 to 14C.

Thursday 12/11/20
A chilly start for northern areas. Patchy rain should clear eastern areas first thing allowing for largely dry conditions across much of the country. Further cloud and some patchy rain moving across far western areas of the UK and Ireland later as low pressure sits to the west of Ireland. Windy to the west too. Highs of 8 to 12C.

Friday 13/11/20
A cloudy start for many with heavy rain across Ireland, Northern Ireland and western Scotland and perhaps into the far southwest of the UK too. Rain will spread eastwards through the day, heavy and persistent in places across the north and west. Conditions generally improving, at least for a short while, for many behind the rain with sunny spells. Breezy with highs of 9 to 14C.

Saturday 14/11/20
Saturday stays breezy with low pressure bringing initially patchy outbreaks of rain into northern and western areas thoughthe rain becomes heavier and more persistent as the day progresses. Largely dry conditions expected across central and southeastern areas of England. Maximum temperatures of 10 to 14C.

Sunday 15/11/20
Outbreaks of rain spread to all areas through Sunday morning but clear to leave a largely dry and fine afternoon across the UK and Ireland with good spells of sunshine, away from northwest Scotland where rain persists. A further area of cloud and rain arrive from the southwest through the evening. Highs of 10 to 15C.

Monday 16/11/20
A breezy day to the west with outbreaks of rain here, these look to be heavy over western Scotland. Staying dry but rather cloudy to the east and southeast. A dry day for much of England. High temperatures reach 9 to 14C.
