Mist and fog
Turning cold

Issued: 0930 Friday 27th November 2020
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Misty and murky, fog not clearing some areas. Turning colder too.

Largely dry but under high pressure and slack winds fog will be stubborn to clear over the coming days. Turning breezy and wet in the north next week while southern areas stay largely dry. Generally feeling chilly particularly under the dense fog but turning colder at the end of next week.

Monday 30/11/20
Higher pressure remains over the UK and Ireland on Monday. There could be further mist and fog over Wales and England, but this may lift to give sunny spells. Breezy and cloudy in northern and western Scotland with rain here. Brighter in the east. Highs at 7 to 10C.

Tuesday 01/12/20
High pressure remains dominat across England, Wales and southern Ireland on Tuesday. Misty and murky for many with some fog in places. Breezier across Northern Ireland, northern England and Scotland with some rain moving into western areas but largely dry with some bright or sunny spells developing. Highs at 6 to 10C.

Wednesday 02/12/20
High pressure still affecting southern England and Wales with dry conditions and slack winds here. Breezier further north and west and a weak and patchy band of rain in the form of a cold front will push southwards across Scotland, Northern Ireland and into northern parts of England. Highs at a chilly 3 or 4C in the north while a relatively milder 11C resides in the south.

Thursday 03/12/20
High pressure moves away on Thursday allowing a trough to move in, although the southeast parts of England look to remain dry. Currently, rain looks to affect Wales, northern England and southern Scotland. Largely dry and bright further north and west although cold. Some possible wintry showers could affect western parts of Scotland. Highs at 4 to 10C.

Friday 04/12/20
Friday could see low pressure stay close by bringing outbreaks of rain and sleet to northern areas, potentially even snow over the higher ground. A cold feeling and breezier day. Highs of just 3 to 8C.

Saturday 05/12/20
A frosty start in the north. Staying cold throughout the day in the north with some rain falling as sleet and snow over higher ground here. Rain showers possible across eastern coasts of England too. Drier further west. Highs of 3 to 9C.
