Ups and downs of temperatures, rain and showers, drier next week

A mixed week ahead with varying temperatures, sometimes being mild but significantly colder on Thursday and Friday. There will be spells of rain, especially during the early part of the week before conditions turn dryer into the early stages of next week.

Thursday 19/11/20
A colder north-westerly flow will be affecting all parts of the UK and Ireland on Thursday. Wintry showers in central and northern Scotland, a few of these affecting a high ground of northern England too. Further showers over northern coast of Wales and parts of Northwest England. For most other areas it will be bright and cold with sunny spells, rather breezy in the east. Later in the day rain will arrive in the west of Ireland. Highs at 5 to 9C.


Friday 20/11/20
A chilly morning across most of the country on Friday. The day starts bright for most, although some rain and cloud affects the far southwest of England. Most of the day is then dry and bright with sunny spells. Thicker cloud and stronger winds affect Scotland and Ireland as well as the far west of Wales and western England. Highs near a cold 6 to 10C.
 


Saturday 21/11/20
A rather cloudy day on Saturday with a south-westerly flow and front bringing rain to southern Ireland, parts of Wales, Northern Ireland and southern Scotland. Brighter and cooler in Scotland but some showers in the west. Rather cloudy across central and southern England with the risk of some drizzle in the south and south-east. A milder day in the south at 11 to 13C, but still cool in the north at 6 to 8C.

Sunday 22/11/20
Cloud and some outbreaks of rain and drizzle may affect the far side of England on Sunday. Showers in northern and western Scotland. Other areas are likely to be bright with some brighter or sunny spells breaking through. Highs at 7 to 12C.

Monday 23/11/20
High pressure to the east with lower pressure to the west on Monday. I suddenly flow brings dry weather with some bright or sunny spells across England and Wales. Eastern Scotland should be brighter as well. Western parts of Scotland and Ireland will be cloudier with the risk of some drizzle on coasts. Highs at 8 to 12C.

Tuesday 24/11/20
Rain across Ireland and into the west of Wales and Southwest England on Tuesday. Dryer across many central and eastern areas with some bright or sunny spells here too. Tops at 9 to 12C.
