Very unsettled weather for the next few days with outbreaks of rain and high winds

Very unsettled conditions are expected over the coming days as the UK and Ireland sit right beneath the jet stream. Low pressure systems will bring plenty of rain as well as high winds to many places. The heaviest rainfall is expected in the west. Temperatures will be mild for the time of year across southern areas. Through next week high pressure looks to build to being calmer yet cooler conditions for a time.

Tuesday 03/11/20
Winds continue to slowly ease across the country on Tuesday. A bright northwesterly flow develops with plenty of dry conditions towards the east. Frequent, blustery showers affect northwestern coasts and hills of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland as well as over northwestern parts of England and Wales. Further south, an area of patchy rain moves eastward across Wales and south England during the morning. High temperatures range from 7 to 11C.

Wednesday 04/11/20
A ridge of high pressure builds from the west across the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. A weak front passes from north to south across the country bringing cloudy skies and the slight chance of light, patchy rain as it passes through. Further fronts may graze the far north of Scotland bringing more prolonged outbreaks of rain here with cloudier skies. Drier and brighter conditions before the front and behind for many. High temperatures at a cool 7 to 10C.

Thursday 05/11/20
High pressure remains across the country on Thursday, centred over Ireland. Expect a frost in northern and western areas as well as some morning mist and fog patches which could be slow to clear. Where they do, the day should be dry and bright. Breezier in northern Scotland as well as across southern English coasts. Patchy outbreaks of rain may affect the far northwest of Scotland. Temperatures around 8 to 11C.

Friday 06/11/20
High pressure remains bringing a mostly fair day again although there is the risk of a weak front pushing down the country bringing cloud and patchy rain at times, however confidence remains low at this time. A risk of mist and fog patches too for many which, again, may be slow to clear. A chilly start to the day is expected to allow a widespread frost to develop. Temperatures at 8 to 12C.

Saturday 07/11/20
Saturday could see high pressure move east allowing low pressure to move up from the south. Another chilly start with a widespread frost as well as mist and fog patches for many. Becoming cloudier to the southwest with patchy rain arriving here later but staying mostly dry and fine to the northeast. Highs range from 7 to 11C.

Sunday 08/11/20
Confidence is low at this time but Sunday could see a weak area of low pressure spread from the southwest across the UK and Ireland bringing patchy outbreaks of rain and stronger winds. Far northeastern areas stay dry but increasingly cloudy. High temperatures at 8 to 12C.
