Sunny north and east, cool here too, cloudier weather and south with heavy morning rain

Chilly and bright in Scotland and northern England with plenty of sunshine here. Feeling colder here too. Mostly dry, but with scattered wintry showers in the far northeast of Scotland. Increased cloud through Ireland, Wales, East Anglia and much of central and southern England with heavy periods of rain across the west and south.

Staying damp and misty this afternoon through much of western and southern Ireland as well as in southern Wales, southwest and southern England. Plenty of sunshine in the north and east , staying cold here.

Clear skies and a frost in eastern parts of Scotland and England. Cloudier skies will prevent a frost forming in western areas, with periods of drizzle in Ireland, west Wales and southwest England.
