Morning Call - January 15, 2021
Mostly dry
Foggy

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 15th January 2021
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

High pressure ridges in across much of the UK and Ireland today bringing a rather quiet day of weather. Early mist and fog patches over northern and central areas may be slow to clear. They should do so however allowing the odd bright spell to develop but it will be a rather cloudy day for most. Thicker cloud over western and northwestern areas as low pressure approaches here. This brings outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow later into Ireland, Northern Ireland and western Scotland.

Good Morning,

A rather cloudy and foggy start to the day on Friday for much of the UK and Ireland. Much of the fog and most will be over northern and central areas but some patches may form elsewhere too. Early rain clears from Shetland and some bright spells develop over northeastern parts of England and of Scotland.

Most of the mist and fog should clear as we head into Friday afternoon as cloud thickens from the west. Staying mostly dry though some rain edges into western Ireland and the far west of Scotland too.

Through the evening rain spreads across Ireland into Northern Ireland and western Scotland where it turns to snow as it meets higher ground. Staying dry but overcast to the east.

Have a good day!

Claire
