Morning Call - January 27, 2021
Cloud, mild to south
Colder Scotland

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 27th January 2021
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

A drier day, lots of cloud, mild south but colder north then wet tonight

Plenty of cloud across the British Isles this morning. A few snow showers in central and eastern parts of Scotland for the next couple of hours, but these fading quickly. Mostly dry for other areas, but this may break to allow a few bright spells to come through. The best of any sunshine in the far north of Scotland. Shetland and Orkney. Rain quickly arrives in the far southwest of Ireland.

More cloud and rain in southwest Ireland this afternoon, rain too into southwest England. Most areas will be rather cloud, again only a few brighter spells in the east. Best sunshine in northern Scotland with a few snow showers in Shetland. A cooler north, whilst milder to the south.

Heavy periods of rain spreading from the west tonight. There is a risk of flooding over northern England and southern Scotland. Snow in central Scotland and across the Southern Uplands and northern Pennines. Cold north, milder south.
