Rain, sleet and snow in the north and west, cold Ireland and Scotland with some coastal snow showers
Rain this morning across eastern Ireland, Wales and northwest England. Further rain in southwest England. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle and mild in central and eastern parts of England with low cloud and mist around the coasts. Colder for much of Ireland and brighter here. Wintry showers in Scotland, snow for western and northern parts.
The afternoon sees the threat of sleet over north wales and parts of northwest England. Further rain in much of Wales and parts of southwest England. Wetter through the Midlands and southern England too. Staying mild here and breezy. Staying cold in Ireland and Scotland with sunshine, but some snow showers in northern and western Scotland and western Ireland.
There is a threat of rain turning to snow over much of Wales and northern England this evening, and this rain, sleet and snow mic passing east through the Midlands overnight. Drier weather follows. More persistent snow may affect central and northern Scotland, heavy snow showers in western Ireland. Gales developing over much of Ireland, Wales, central, eastern and northern England as well as northern Scotland.
