Morning Call - January 05, 2021
Cold, breezy, wintry showers
Best in west

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 5th January 2021
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Cold again, wintry showers in the east, the brisk wind making it feel colder

Another cold day ahead with a brisk north easterly wind affecting much of England and Wales as well as Ireland. That will make it feel even colder. There will be some cloud and wintry showers affecting eastern parts of Scotland and England, most of the showers across south-east England. Brighter further west although sharp frost to start this morning.

Little changes this afternoon with the brisk north-east wind continuing to feed some wintry showers into eastern areas. The west should be drier and brighter with some sunny spells, the best of the sunshine in western Scotland.

Overnight further showers may affect eastern areas and these will turn increasingly to sleet and snow later in the night across parts of Kent and Sussex as well as Suffolk. Dry in the west and it is here where there will be another severe frost by morning.
