Morning Call - August 08, 2019
Dry and fair for most
Scattered showers north

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 8th August 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A dry and fair day for most with scattered showers affecting Scotland. Low pressure bringing cloud, heavy rain and gusty winds to southwestern areas by this evening.

Good morning,

It's a mostly dry and fair picture across the British Isles to start the day. Cloudier conditions to the southwest and over the far north where there may also be the odd isolated shower. Through the morning light scattered showers may pop up over parts of Scotland, Ireland and Wales while some heavier showers may affect far southern counties of England. Mostly dry and bright elsewhere.

Showers continuing over Scotland through the afternoon where they may merge to give longer spells of rain for central areas. Cloud will continue to build from the southwest over Ireland, England and Wales as low pressure edges ever closer to the southwest. High temperatures at 18 to 24C for most.

Heavy rain edging into southern Ireland, the West Country and south Wales through Thursday evening spreading further north and east as the night progresses. Winds will start to pick up too.

Have a good day!
Claire
