Morning Call - August 17, 2019
Windy but bright
Blustery showers

Strong winds affecting most of us today. There will be good spells of sunshine for many with some blustery showers.

Good morning,

There's some showery rain affecting western coasts this morning while northeastern parts of Scotland could see some heavier spells of rain. Plenty of sunshine elsewhere with just the odd isolated shower. Through the morning showers will continue in the west, spreading eastward across the island of Ireland and Scotland. Meanwhile, more organised band of showery rain will start to work its way southeast across England. A windy morning across the country.

Through the afternoon a band of showery rain will continue to edge southeastward across England while more persistent rain continues for northwestern parts of Ireland and Scotland. This could become heavy through the afternoon. Elsewhere there will be isolated showers - these most frequent for western areas. Staying windy too through the afternoon with gusts of up to 50mph possible for western coastal areas and 35 to 40mph possible over exposed locations inland. High temperatures typically from 15 to 19C, though parts of the southeast could see 21 or 22C.

Staying windy through Saturday evening with rain persisting for northwestern areas. Showers generally easing though some western areas could see them continue into the night.

Have a good day!
Claire
