Morning Call - August 30, 2019
Wet & windy northwest
Dry, brighter southeast

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 30th August 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

It's a wet and windy day for northern and western parts of the UK and Ireland today. Drier for England and Wales with the best of any brightness to the southeast.

Good morning,

It's an overcast start to the day for most with some mist and fog patches too. Patches of drizzle as well for western coasts and hills. Rain and strong winds affecting the far west of Scotland and Ireland. Through the morning, rain becoming more widespread across Ireland and into central and northern parts of Scotland too. Mostly dry for Wales and England though the odd shower over northwestern areas can't be ruled out.

Staying windy through the afternoon for the northern half of the British Isles. Rain through the afternoon concentrated over western Ireland, southwestern Scotland and spreading into northwest England. Staying dry but rather grey for Wales and northern England. Brightening to the southeast. High temperatures at 13 or 14C in northern Scotland, 23 or 24C in the southeast of England.

Rain continues over western Ireland and western Scotland into Friday evening. Staying cloudy for much of Wales and northern England too. Clearer skies to the southeast.

Have a great day!
Claire
