Some rain for central Scotland on New Year's Eve
Good morning,
High pressure stays centred over southern Britain today, maintaining quiet and mild weather. Variable cloud, some fog, and occasional sun.
A west to southwesterly flow affects northern areas, producing rain and drizzle for western Scotland. This turns heavier later as a cold front slips southwards. Patchy rain is likely to affect central and south-west Scotland, also Northern Ireland toward midnight on New Year's Eve.
A little drizzle may affect western areas of England and Wales, otherwise it will be dry and not particularly cold heading toward midnight, around 5 to 7C.
Today's top temperatures will be up to 9 to 12C.
Have a great day. Garry
