Rain in southwest later

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 4th December 2018
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

A cool day with morning mist and fog patches lifting then wet tonight

Good morning,

A cold and frosty morning in Scotland and northern England as well as much of Ireland. Good spells of sunshine with morning mist patches clearing away. A risk of a few showers in western Scotland, these wintry on the hills. Drier and brighter in eastern and southern Scotland.

Fair for most other areas this morning. Again there will be some morning mist and fog patches, but these steadily lifting. The day then dry and cooler than recently. broken cloud and some sunny spells. Cloud increasing from the southwest this afternoon with rain in southern Ireland, turning more persistent. This rain into southwest England and south Wales this afternoon.

Becoming wet for many tonight and windy too. Staying drier in northern Scotland.
