Morning Call - December 10, 2018
Mainly bright and dry
Chance of light showers in the west

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 10th December 2018
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

It will be a dry and bright day for many today though Northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland could see some light showers developing this afternoon.

Good morning,

It should be a largely dry and bright start to the day for most of the British Isles this morning though there is a chance of some mist and murk lingering in western areas. It will be a cold start to the day too with overnight lows dipping to freezing in mainland Scotland. Elsewhere lows will be in the range from 2 to 6C.

It will stay dry through the morning and into the afternoon though cloud will start to build from the west. Light rain will reach Northern Ireland through the afternoon spreading into western fringes of Scotland by the evening. It will be a cool day with temperature highs of 4 to 5C in Scotland, 10-11C for southwestern parts of Ireland, Wales and England. Temperatures of 6 to 8C will be more typical everywhere else but it will feel particularly cold on eastern coasts that are exposed to the northerly breeze.

For western areas by evening it will be rather overcast through the evening but should stay dry while eastern areas will keep clearer skies.

Claire
