Morning Call - December 23, 2018
Dry & bright in the north
Cloudy & wet in the south

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 23rd December 2018
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

It will be a dry day for most of Scotland with the best of the brightness in the far north. Northern Ireland, England and Wales will see prolonged spells of rain persisting through much of the day.

Good morning,

Sunday begins brightly in the far north of Scotland but cloud amounts will increase further south. It will be a wet start for Northern Ireland, southwest Scotland and much of England and Wales. The heaviest rain will be in Northern Ireland and the northwest of England. Rain will continue through the morning for the southern half of the country with the heaviest falls across northern England.

Through the afternoon the rain will push eastward and ease over Northern Ireland but it will persist for many parts of central and southern England. The best of the brightness will remain restricted to the far north of Scotland. High temperatures in Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England will reach 5 to 7C while elsewhere they will reach 9 to 13C.

It remains cloudy for many into Sunday evening though the cloud will break for most of Scotland leaving clear skies. Rain will clear too for most of England and Wales with the exception of the far south coast.

Have a great day!
Claire
