Dry & bright for most
Cloudy, damp west

Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A dry and bright day for most of us across the British Isles on Saturday. The best of the sun and warmth for southern and eastern areas. Cloudier to the west with outbreaks of rain and showers for western parts of Ireland and Scotland.

Good morning,

It's a dry and bright start for many of us this morning particularly in the southeast. Cloudier to the west with outbreaks of light rain and showers for the far west of Scotland and western parts of Ireland. There may also be some mist or fog patches, especially for southern Ireland, but these should burn off quickly through the morning.

Rain should ease slightly over western parts of Scotland and Ireland into the afternoon but elsewhere it will stay dry and mostly sunny. The best of the sunshine over England, Wales and southeastern parts of Scotland and Ireland. High temperatures reaching just 17 to 19C in the far northwest of Scotland and western Ireland; 21 to 27C elsewhere across the British Isles with the warmest temperatures in eastern England.

Into Saturday evening and we may see rain clearing from western Ireland but intensifying once more over northwestern Scotland. A dry evening elsewhere with the best of the sun for southeastern areas.

Have a great day!
Claire
