Drier south and east

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 21st August 2019
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Increasingly damp and windy west drier to the south and east

Good morning,

Hazy sunshine on Wednesday morning over much of England and Wales. It should be dry at first although a tendency for isolated showers to develop over Wales, northern England and southern Scotland. Thicker cloud and stronger winds moving into Ireland as a front approaches from the west.

This afternoon sees windier weather and outbreaks of rain passing through Ireland, northern England, southern Scotland and the north and west of Wales. Brighter weather followsinto western Ireland and the far west of Scotland by the evening. Staying dry in the far southeast and across southern England. Increasingly misty and murky for western coasts and hills.

Rain tonight over northern England and Wales. Dry in southern areas of England. Clearer skies and drier weather in Scotland and Ireland but some showers in the west. A chilly night under clearer skies in Scotland and Ireland.
