Rain and showers, some heavy and thundery, then drier later in the north

A period of unsettled weather as low pressure drifts over the country bringing rain and showers. The showers could be thundery at times. An indications of higher pressure building in the north next week bringing drier weather. A risk of some cooler nights.

Friday 9/9/22
Low pressure remains over the British Isles on Friday. Rain in eastern Scotland and the far north of England. Showers for the rest of England and Wales, some of them thundery. Tending to be drier in the far north and west of Scotland, with the showers fading from Ireland. Later in the day showers wil be fading from the west of Wales and western England too. Highs near 17C in the east, 21C in the south.

Saturday 10/9/22
A ridge of high pressure bringing a mostly dry day in Ireland, Wales and much of England on Saturday with some sunny spells. Showers in Scotland, some of them heavy and thundery in the north. Highs at 22C in southern England, 16C in northern Scotland.

Sunday 11/9/22
An area of low pressure to the north of Scotland on Sunday. This brings some showers here. A few showers in southern Scotland and northern England. More persistent showers of rain may affect the far southwest. Drier for other areas with some bright or sunny spells. Highs at 23C in the south, 15C in the far north.

Monday 12/9/22
Low pressure to the south of the country with higher pressure in the north. There will be rain ans showers associated with the low pressure. Drier for Scotland and Ireland with some sunny spells. Highs at 22C in the far south of England, 17C in northern Scotland.

Tuesday 13/9/22
Low pressure drifts east of the country on Tuesday. Showers affecting East Anglia and southeast England. Drier for north and western areas as a ridge of high pressure builds bringing sunny spells. Highs at 19 to 22C.

Wednesday 14/9/22
A ridge of high pressure builds on Wednesday. This brings a drier day for many areas with sunny spells, Some cloud and rain in northwest Scotland and western Ireland. Highs at 15 to 19C.
