Turning cold and windy with some rain early next week
Some rain pushing south down the country later in the week with a cooler flow behind. Then a potentially unsettled period early next week with high winds, showers as well as longer spells of rain, plus feeling cold. Higher pressure moves back in thereafter.

Friday 23/9/22 Outbreaks of rain move into central and southern areas, but rain tending to break up as fronts weaken. Extensively cloudy for much of England and Wales. Drier, brighter and relatively cooler weather further north and west. A few showers for western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs at 15C north to 20C south.
Saturday 24/9/22 Variable cloud and sunny spells. Many places staying dry. Scattered showers focused around coasts in the west with a risk of more persistent, sometimes heavy showers around far southern English counties. Feeling fresher for all, highs 14 to 19C.
Sunday 25/9/22 Much of Britain and Ireland may stay dry with sunny spells. Strengthening winds, up to gale force across northern Scotland later. Rain moving in to northern and western areas of Scotland as well as Northern Ireland. Highs 14 to 18C.
Monday 26/9/22 Northwesterly winds are likely to affect the country making it feel chilly. Showers as well as longer spells of rain will affect most, though sunny spells in between. Highs 9 to 15C.
Tuesday 27/9/22 Low pressure east of the country on Tuesday with high pressure west of Ireland. Cold again in the strong northwest wind with showers around northern, western and eastern coasts. The showers in the east being most persistent. Highs at 9 to 16C.
Wednesday 28/9/22 Winds ease on Wednesday though still breezy across southern and southeastern areas of England. Showers push on to eastern coasts, some further inland. Perhaps some more persistent rain across the far southeast. A milder day with highs at 11 to 18C.
