Becoming less chilly through this week with rain expected on Friday. Windy Saturday with rain in the south but brighter further north. Milder days through the first half of next week with higher pressure building, though likely to bring chilly nights.

An area of low pressure northwest of Scotland on Friday pushes a front eastwards bringing strong winds and some heavy rain. Brighter weather follows through Ireland, although some heavy showers in the west. The brighter weather with some showers reaching western England and Scotland later in the day. Showers could be heavy and prolonged in western Scotland. Highs at 17C in southern England, 11C in northern Scotland.

Saturday 1/10/22
Low pressure stays northwest of Scotland on Saturday. A front may be close to southern Ireland and southern England as well as south Wales, bringing some cloud and rain with it. Other areas are brighter with sunny spells, although some showers over western coasts and hills. Highs at 13C in Scotland, 17C in southern England.

Sunday 2/10/22
A ridge of high pressure builds in on Sunday seeing largely dry weather, though showers are to be expected across the far north and northwest of Scotland. Highs at 15C in the west but to 17C in any brightness in the southeast.

Monday 3/10/22
An area of low pressure northwest of Scotland gives rain to much of Scotland, northern parts of England and Northern Ireland. Drier, brighter and milder in the east and south. Highs at 15 to 18C.

Tuesday 4/10/22
A brighter day for all though frequent showers in the west, drier elsewhere. Windy though it will be a relatively mild wind. Highs at 16 to 20C.

Wednesday 5/10/22
A weak front brings some cloud and spots of light rain to central and southern England and parts of Wales for a time. Drier and brighter elsewhere though still windy across northern Scotland. Highs at 15 to 20C.
