Temperatures dropping with chilly nights ahead

High pressure keeps weather settled but cooler over the coming days. Chilly nights with a grass frost forecast this weekend. Frontal rain moves in through next week when temperatures will become relatively milder.

Sunday 18/9/22
High pressure stays over Ireland on Sunday though with low pressure to the east it is likely to pull more cloud and a higher risk of showery rain down eastern coasts. Sunny spells and dry for most areas. Feeling cool again during the day after another chilly start. Highs at 13 to 18C.
 

Monday 19/9/22
High pressure drifts over the British Isles. Cloud and some showers in East Anglia and southeast England for a time but this should ease away. Dry for most other areas with bright or sunny spells. Temperatures at 15 to 18C.

Tuesday 20/9/22
The area of high pressure stays over the British Isles on Tuesday. Some cloud and a few morning showers in East Anglia and southeast England. Broken cloud too in western Ireland and northwest Scotland where there is a risk of some frontal rain moving in here. Dry and bright for most areas with sunny spells. Highs around 15 to 18C.

Wednesday 21/9/22
High pressure drifts east through Wednesday but continues to keep many areas dry across England, Wales and Scotland. Cloudier across Northern Ireland and west Scotland with outbreaks of rain. A milder day than of later with highs at 17 to 21C.

Thursday 22/9/22
Rain clears Scotland and Northern Ireland on Thursday morning pushing the cloud and spells of rain across Wales and England. Becoming brighter in the north and west though windy with blustery showers. Highs at 16 to 21C.

Friday 23/9/22
Cloudy and wet in the south on Friday. Drier and brighter elsewhere though with some sharp`showers pushing on to western areas. Windy still through Northern Ireland and northwest Scotland. Highs at 16 to 20C.
