Turning cold and unsettled early next week

Some rain pushing south down the country later in the week with a cooler flow behind. Then a potentially unsettled period early next week with a cold northerly blast and strong winds, showers as well as longer spells of rain. Temperatures moderating later in the week but weather staying mixed.

Saturday sees a cool start in the north with a mostly dry and fine day expected. Across England and Wales there will be more variable cloud but also sunny spells and some scattered showers. Feeling fresher for all, highs at 14 to 19C.

 
 
 

Sunday 25/9/22
Much of Britain and Ireland may stay dry with sunny spells on Sunday. Strengthening winds, up to gale force across northern Scotland later. Rain moving in to northern and western areas of Scotland as well as Northern Ireland. Highs 14 to 17C.

Monday 26/9/22
Brisk northwesterly winds are likely to affect the country making it feel particularly chilly on Monday. Longer spells of rain affect southern England for a time before clearing away. Blustery showers and sunny spells elsewhere. Highs 9 to 15C.

Tuesday 27/9/22
A cold start for many with frost in the north. The chilly brisk northerly wind eases back through Tuesday. Coastal showers but also plenty of sunny spells about. Possible longer spells of rain affecting the far SE corner of England making it feel particularly chilly here. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Wednesday 28/9/22
Less windy on Wednesday with patchy rain pushing eastwards across the country, though starting off dry and fine though chilly with some frost patches through central and east England. A milder day with highs at 10 to 17C.

Thursday 29/9/22
Sunny spells and showers pushing on to western areas, some merging into longer spells of rain. Drier and brighter further east. Highs at 12 to 17C.
