More unsettled and milder this week, periods of rain, showers and stronger winds

A less cool week ahead. It is going to be more unsettled with periods of rain and showers. Winds will be strong at times too. Many eastern and southern areas are likely to be mild. Perhaps turning cooler for a day or so after the weekend although conditions will be remaining mixed.

Thursday 22/10/20
A ridge of high pressure covers the UK and Ireland on Thursday. A weakening front through central parts of England and Wales with a few spots of rain. These will be clearing to the south and east with some bright or sunny spells developing. A ridge of high pressure builds in Ireland and Scotland bringing sunshine and dry weather here. Cooler weather in the north too. Highs at 18C in southeast England, 9 to 11C for much of the north and west.

Friday 23/10/20
A weakening front passing east through Ireland and western parts of the UK bringing outbreaks of rain. Showers may affect southern England with other areas being generally dry with some bright spells. Highs at 11 to 15C.

 
 
 

Saturday 24/10/20
Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland on Saturday. This brings a breezy day with a risk of gales in the west. Rain in Ireland and western Scotland too, with some spots of drizzle over western and south coasts and hills. Drier for other areas. Highs at a mild 12 to 16C.

Sunday 25/10/20
A front lies north to south through England and Wales on Sunday bringing outbreaks of rain here. Fresher and brighter in Ireland, Scotland and northwest England although with a few showers. Highs at a cooler 9 to 12C.

Monday 26/10/20
The remnants of the front bring cloudier, murky conditions in central and southern parts of England and Wales on Monday. Brighter in Scotland and Ireland. Some outbreaks of rain in western and northwest Scotland. Highs at 10 to 12C for most.

Tuesday 27/10/20
Cloud and outbreaks of rain in Ireland and Scotland on Tuesday. brighter in southern areas of the country. Highs near 11 to 15C.
