Cool and mixed weather in the coming days. There is a risk of some heavier rain across central and southern areas on Thursday, ahead of the weather turning chiller again into the weekend. Conditions may then become drier through the weekend and into next week, although still some showers on coasts of the west, north and east.

Thursday 8/10/20
A small area of low pressure is expected to be passing through southern England on Thursday. This brings with it cloud and periods of rain. There is uncertainty over where the most persistent of the rain will be but at the present time it seems that southern Wales, southern England, the Midlands and East Anglia are most likely to see the heaviest rain. Drier further north with sunny spells, although there will be showers in northern and western Scotland as well as northwest England. Highs at 9 to 12C north of the rain area, perhaps 16C on southern coasts.

Friday 9/10/20
Low pressure to the northeast of Scotland on Friday. This is going to be bringing a windy and cloudy day to much of central and northern Scotland with frequent showers or longer spells of rain here. After a chilly start brighter weather is expected in southern Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland but feeling cool, There will be some showers affecting western coasts as well as blowing through Ireland, most in the west. The best sunshine will be in central and eastern England. Highs at 10 to 13C.

Saturday 10/10/20
A brighter but colder northwest flow affects the whole of the British Isles on Saturday. Higher pressure west of Ireland with low pressure to the east. There will be a mix of sunshine and showers. Mot showers in northern and eastern Scotland and eastern England. Fewer showers in the west where the best sunshine will be. Tops at 9 to 14C.

Sunday 11/10/20
Higher pressure southwest of Ireland with low pressure to the east on Sunday. The result is a north to northwest wind but a fair day for many as well. Some showers around northern and eastern coasts, but generally drier elsewhere. A cold start to the day with a frost in places and then staying chilly at 8 to 12C.

Monday 12/10/20
A weak front may be bringing some outbreaks of rain in western Scotland and Ireland on Monday. More central and eastern areas should be dry although rather cloudy with only limited spells of sunshine. Highs near 10 to 13C.

Tuesday 13/10/20
Brighter and cooler on Tuesday. There will be showers again around the coasts of the west, north and east. Tending to be drier elsewhere with sunny spells. Highs at 9 to 12C.
