Unsettled with rain and showers, increasing risk of gales but mild for all

An unsettled week ahead. Low pressures systems will be bringing periods of rain, followed by showers. It is going to become increasingly windy with severe gales, especially in the west. Overall temperatures will be close to average although there will be some colder and warmer days too.

Sunday 25/10/20
Low pressure is centred to the west of Scotland on Sunday. Gales across much of Scotland and Northern Ireland too with cloud and rain, most in the west. Sunshine and showers across the rest of England and Wales. Further showers in Ireland reaching northwest England and western Wales. Drier in the east. Highs range from 9C in the north of Scotland to 13 or 14C across southern parts of England and Wales.

Monday 26/10/20
Low pressure stays to the north of Scotland on Monday. A mix of sunshine and showers for all areas with most of the showers in the west. Cloudier skies and more persistent rain in the far northwest of Scotland. Cloud builds over southwestern parts of Ireland and the UK later. Highs at 9 to 12C.
 

Tuesday 27/10/20
Another wet and windy day across the UK and Ireland as fronts push eastwards bringing more rain, most of it in the west. Gales are likely to be widespread. High temperatures range from 10 to 14C.

Wednesday 28/10/20
Staying unsettled as low pressure remains west of Scotland. Bands of rain and showers passing eastwards, with heavy showers following to the west. Widespread gales are likely once again. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Thursday 29/10/20
Staying unsettled again with wind, rain and showers again traversing west to east. It may stay cloudier in southern England with outbreaks of rain here. Gales likely to continue for many. Highs at 8 to 15C.

Friday 30/10/20
Winds ease slightly on Friday as rain clears to the southeast to leave a mixed day of sunshine and showers. Rain arrives to the west again later. Highs range from 8C in the north to 16C in the southeast.
